DESCRIPTION:The Gemfields Lapidary & Craft Club invites you to the annual Jewel of the Gemfields festival at Roy Day Park on Anakie Sapphire Road in Sapphire\, Queensland. This three-day event runs from 7 to 9 August 2026 and celebrates the area’s sapphire mining history with displays from more than 200 exhibitors. Entry is free and there is lots of on-site parking. \nThis lively community festival in the heart of the Central Gemfields welcomes hobbyists\, travellers\, gem lovers\, and families to enjoy the unique culture of Queensland’s famous sapphire region. \nFeaturing: \n\nYou’ll find a range of specialist traders like L.A. Gems\, Glenn Huntley\, Sapphire Gem Cuts\, McArthur’s Jewellers\, and Earthtoocean-jewellery\, offering sapphires\, jewellery\, opals\, gems\, and lapidary supplies.\nSee sapphire displays\, and watch experts demonstrate gemstone cutting\, polishing\, cabochoning\, silversmithing\, and faceting.\nEnjoy live musical performances from artists including Hello Jane and Timothy Johnson\, alongside entertainment such as Okie Dokie-Karaoke and the roving Memphis Moovers Band.\nTry your luck at finding real gems in the on-site fossicking parks.\nDon’t miss the raffle\, with over $26\,000 in Australian sapphires to be won.
